The benefits that a portal can offer to higher education institutions are numerous but may vary depending on how the portal is designed and implemented. A standard-based, user need-centric and economical university portal framework shall be developed by identifying the standard requirements of a university portal; analyzing the user needs and the current information system profile of the university; and determining the best open-source portal software to use.
In the current information systems profile of the Ramon Magsaysay Technological University, computerization of services are only implemented in some frontline services of the university including admission, registration and grades and accounts inquiries. There are still limited online facilities being enjoyed by the students. This study primarily aims to develop an online gateway for research outputs of student and faculty researchers so as to promote utilization of conducted researches by bringing them to the cloud accessible for use to future researchers.
